D-Xirable Movies/Shows/Plays! Why I Love Seeing Them!

Hello, my wonderful and amazing loves!

If you were ever wondering why I'm always posting about movies it's because I LOVE going to see them! Ever since I was little, I've been in love with writing and the arts. I took theater in high school and fell in love with it. But even when I was little, my mom said I would write and direct short plays with my little sister and we would act them out for her to see. I love everything about the stage and performance, and movies/plays/productions/performances are all just art brought to life. I love seeing a movie, a show, or a play. It's an escape for me. It's all make-believe but it's art! There's nothing better than seeing magic-- someone's creativity and imagination brought to life right in front of you. Like someone created that! Art lures me in. It calls to me, it has a hold on me. Just like writing. That's why I love going to the movies, or seeing a show or a play. In that moment, I can dream. I can escape. I can get lost in someone else's creativity. It inspires me. It makes me happy. And that's what I want to do-- create art and bring my dreams to life. Create magic-- create something beautiful.

Hope you enjoyed the post!

Love always,

D-Xirable Movie Time! Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Everything, Everything

Hello, my wonderful and amazing loves!

Today, I went to the Cinemark Palace in the Plaza to see a double feature (two movies). First, I went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Then, my mom came and we saw Everything, Everything. Both movies were just okay. Honestly, I could have waited to see both of them.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Synopsis: Captain Jack Sparrow (played by handsome and talented, Johnny Depp) is pursued by an old nemesis, Captain Armando Salazar (played by talented, Javier Bardem), who along with his Spanish Navy ghost crew has escaped from the Devil’s Triangle and is determined to kill every pirate at sea. Jack, aided by his new allies Henry Turner (played by cutie, Brenton Thwaites) and Carina Smyth (played by Kaya Scodelario), must seek the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that grants its possessor total control over the seas, in order to defeat Salazar and break all sea curses. Henry Turner is Will Turner Jr.'s (played by gorgeous and talented, Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swan's (played by the gorgeous and talented, Keira Knightley) son and Carina Smyth is Captain Barbossa's daughter.

Gorgeous and talented, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Jr.!

To me, the synopsis just doesn't fit right. Although the film is about Captain Jack Sparrow, and Captain Armando Salazar is trying to get revenge on him, I felt like this movie was more geared toward Henry Turner and Carina Smyth. Henry Turner is Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann's son who's trying to break his father's curse, while Carina Smyth is Captain Barbossa's daughter trying to find the Trident of Poseidon in her father's honor. Although, Javier Bardem made an incredible villain and it was nice to see Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, and Paul McCartney made a nice cameo, this wasn't my favorite film of the franchise. But you could say I'm biased because I mainly watch Pirates of the Caribbean for Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley, and Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom were barely in this movie.

Young Jack Sparrow!

Handsome and talented, Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow!

Favorite Quotes:

"I will not pay for that." - Henry Turner. Never say that to a woman."- Captain Jack Sparrow
"How dare you do exactly what I would do if I were you." - Captain Jack Sparrow

Everything, Everything

Maddy (played by extremely beautiful and talented, Amandla Stenberg)
Synopsis: What if you couldn't touch anything in the outside world? Never breathe in the fresh air, feel the sun warm your face… or kiss the boy next door? Everything, Everything tells the unlikely love story of Maddy (played by extremely beautiful and talented, Amandla Stenberg), a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who due to an illness cannot leave the protection of the hermetically sealed environment within her house, and Olly (played by cute, Nick Robinson), the boy next door who won’t let that stop them. Maddy is desperate to experience the much more stimulating outside world, and the promise of her first romance. Gazing through windows and talking only through texts, she and Olly form a deep bond that leads them to risk everything to be together… even if it means losing everything.

Maddy and Olly!

Olly and Maddy!

I wanted to love this movie. I love a good romance film. In fact, I'm a sucker for a good romance! However, this movie wasn't it. My mom didn't care for it either. It was very awkward and slow at first. I know it's supposed to be that way, we're talking about a young girl who has had very little human conversation but it was just too awkward for me. It didn't help that there were two other young girls in the theater laughing at the awkward moments as well. However, I did enjoy the beach scenes in Hawaii. Those moments were really cute.

Fave Quotes:
"Love can't kill me, mom." - Maddy
"Call him. Don't be a coward."
"Every ocean deserves to be seen by you." - Olly
"Aloha. Don't die."
"Dear mom, I know staying in this house keeps me alive, but this isn’t living. I want to experience everything. Everything. This is all I want." - Maddy

Hello, my wonderful and amazing loves!

Today is my twiny/bestie/big sis Ja birthday! She turns 28 years old! I wasn't able to celebrate it with her today but I hope she enjoyed it. She has been my sister since high school! We've known each other for 10 years now! I can talk to her about anything and everything, and I do! She's always been there for me, through the good and the bad. She always sees the best in me, even when I'm at my worst. She supports my hopes and dreams. She's encouraged my writing and my painting! In fact, she has one of my paintings in her room and a rose artwork that I did. We've been to concerts together, went on vacations together, binged watched our favorite TV shows together, gone to dinners and movies together, etc! She constantly inspires me with her strength, compassion, and dedication! She's so caring, loving, generous, smart and amazing! I'm so blessed to have her in my life!  She has been a ray of light during my darkest times! I love her so much! Happy 28th birthday to my best friend/big sis/twiny Ja! D-Xirable Birthday! King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and Ruby Tuesday's!

Hello, my wonderful and amazing loves!

Today is my birthday! I am 27 years old. I'm getting old! Lol! I spent the day before my birthday at my best friend/twiny/big sis Reja's (Ja's) house and with my Godma! We binged watched my show, Riverdale. I love the show and my twiny Ja enjoyed it as well. Today, her cousin Metchy and his wife, Tess, came into town. They joined us for my birthday celebration! It was actually a twiny birthday celebration. My twiny's birthday is this Tuesday, May 23rd! We went to see King Arthur: Legend of the Sword at AMC Ward Parkway 14. The movie was okay but the eye candy was nice! Jude Law is beyond talented and gorgeous and Charlie Hunnam is beyond talented and attractive/handsome! Plus, David Beckham has an awesome cameo! Jude Law's character, Vortigern, is so evil and power hungry! Eric Bana looked good too! He made a good Uther. My Godma and I enjoyed it. Metchy, Tess, and my big sis/twiny, Ja, thought the movie was just okay.

Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur and Jude Law as Vortigern!

Movie synopsis: After the murder of his father, young Arthur's power-hungry uncle Vortigern seizes control of the crown. Robbed of his birthright, he grows up the hard way in the back alleys of the city, not knowing who he truly is. When fate leads him to pull the Excalibur sword from stone, Arthur embraces his true destiny to become a legendary fighter and leader.

Handsome and talented Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur!

Gorgeous and talented Jude Law as Vortigern!

Handsome David Beckham as Trigger!

After the movie we all went to Ruby Tuesday's. I had the Shrimp Skewer. It was good. We all enjoyed our meals. When I got home, my uncle Eric came in from out of town. My uncle Eric, my aunt Donna, my cousin Carmela, my cousin Jalyn, my cousin Melo, my mama, and my little sis, Nico, was at the house. They all sang happy birthday to me! That was nice! My mom bought me a plant and a small cake, my twiny is buying me some painting class since I love art, and my Godma treated me out today. Overall, I had a nice birthday.

D-Xirable Mother's Day! My Mom and Godma!

Hello, my wonderful and amazing loves!

Today, I got to celebrate Mother's Day with one of my favorite people, my Godma! We went to church and then we went to a potluck. Yesterday, I celebrated Mother's Day with my mom. We went to Crown Center to get some chocolate, caramel, pecan turtles, and I cooked. My little sis Nico, and her fiance Derron, came over and visited! My mom and I may not always agree on things but she has always been there for me. ALWAYS! My mom and my Godma are two of the most amazing women that I know. They have supported me through the good times and the bad times. They were both there for me when I got sick. They have been there for me through it all. They are both strong and incredible women! I'm SO blessed to have both of them in my life! I LOVE them both so much! Happy Mother's Day to them both! And Happy Mother's Day to my little sis Nico (she's a mom-to-be)! D-Xirably Missed! Tabitha's Wake and Funeral!

Hello, my wonderful and amazing loves!

Yesterday, my mom, little sister Nico, Derron, and I went to Tabitha's wake. It was the last time we got to see Tabitha. It was heartbreaking to see her laying in a casket... Today, was Tabitha's funeral. It was a very beautiful funeral. The Pastor and his church did an amazing job! I love the song they sang, too!

My sister and I was fortunate enough to give a tribute at Tabby's funeral. Thank you so much to Barb for allowing us to speak. It was an honor. I still can't believe she's gone. I will miss her so much! She was so young, only 24 years old, and she had so much life in her left. But I guess God wanted her close to him. I wrote this poem for her funeral. I love you sweet, Angel (Tabitha)!

For Our Angel, Tabitha (Tabby)

I’m honestly up here and I don’t know what to say--
I remember when we were younger and when we all used to play.

We used to do the cha-cha slide like every single day--
And we would go to the skating rink every Sunday.

We grew up with each other and went to the same school--
We would even hang out and meet up at the pool.

Together at our first concert we all went--
And all of the family holidays together we spent.

Tabby, dear Angel, you were always so sweet--
I remember all the candy we got from trick or treat.

We went bowling together and we even did cheer--
That’s why it’s so hard not to have you here.

We were all close, we all loved each other--
We all had a bond like no other.

It will be hard not to see your beautiful, smiling face--
And all the memories we have together, time couldn’t erase.

And though you’re not here, and though you’ve passed away--
Forever in our hearts you will always stay.

I know you’re in heaven looking down on us all--
Heaven’s got an angel and we love you and miss you sweet angel, that’s all.

This is see you later, this isn’t goodbye--
Because in our hearts and through our memories, your spirit will never die.

Me, Rachael, Tabby, and my little sis Nico!

Sweet angel, Tabitha and I!

It was SO nice seeing the family - Barb, Mr. Dick, Rachael, Jeff, and Jesus. I've been wanting to see them ever since I heard about Tabby. I love them all so much! It was also nice seeing Donna, Jennifer, Kyla, Ashley, and Brittany. Seeing the family is always a great thing but it's unfortunate that it had to be for a funeral.

May you rest in paradise/peace sweet, Tabitha! Our memories together, I will forever cherish. And you will always be in my heart. Watch over us sweet, Angel! You were a light in this world and you exemplified beauty and grace! We love you!

Hope you enjoyed the pics and post!
